(Ett år av apokalyptiskt tänkande)

by Linda Spåman
translated by Henning Koch

In 2020, Linda Spåman’s father is diagnosed with motor neurone disease. She decides to be with him every day in what remains of his life, and to do her utmost to respect his last wishes, which, in the end, prove to be rather plentiful. A Year of Apocalyptic Thinking is a dark comedy, a tragi-comic “feel-bad” story that speaks of the finality of death, but also life, love, damaged relationships, and the promises we try to keep - but sometimes cannot. Above all, it is a story of someone wishing to decide the manner in which their life should end. Anyone who has experienced loss, or who mourns a departed friend, will recognise the ongoing dialogue between the dead father and his daughter in A Year of Apocalyptic Thinking - a dialogue that may even be the key to healing and letting go.
